How to use WAGO 221-412 Connectors
The Wago 221-412 connectors are compact lever connectors used for splicing electrical wires safely and efficiently. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use them:
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Wago 221-412 connectors
- Wire strippers
- Electrical wires (solid or stranded)
Steps to Use Wago 221-412 Connectors:
-
Prepare the Wires:
- Strip the Wire: Using a wire stripper, strip approximately 11 mm (0.43 inches) of insulation from the ends of the wires you intend to connect.
- Inspect the Stripped Wires: Ensure the stripped ends are clean and free from nicks or damage.
-
Open the Lever:
- Each Wago 221-412 connector has two levers, one for each wire. To open the lever, lift it up to the full upright position. This action opens the clamping mechanism inside the connector.
-
Insert the Wire:
- Insert the Stripped Wire: Insert the stripped end of the wire fully into the opening until it reaches the built-in stop. Ensure that no bare wire is visible outside the connector.
- Close the Lever: Push the lever back down to its original position. The internal clamp will secure the wire firmly in place.
-
Repeat for Additional Wires:
- If you're connecting two wires, repeat the process for the second wire using the other lever. Each wire should be inserted into its respective slot, and the lever should be closed to secure it.
-
Verify the Connection:
- Gently tug on each wire to ensure they are firmly held in place by the connector. There should be no movement if the wires are properly secured.
